Paper technologists make board using production facilities. They have a good understanding of the production process from the raw material to the end product. During manufacturing, they monitor complex production and processing facilities. They ensure the desired quality is achieved. They prepare the finished products for shipping or store them appropriately. A paper technologist is also able to execute easy mechanical maintenance jobs independently and to maintain the machine. This requires skill and technical understanding.

For training you should:

Have a good school leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss or Realschulabschluss). You are also welcome to apply if you are looking for “second chance provision” or have other reasons for looking for a second career. Please apply if you have good grades in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, have technical understanding and are interested in machines and facilities, show initiative, independence and willingness to work as part of a team.
